B.R. Kreider & Son, Inc. “Christmas In July” Benefits Manheim Central Food Pantry

B.R. Kreider & Son, Inc., a family-owned and operated excavating and paving company, recently held a “Christmas in July” food collection drive among its employees in support of the Manheim Central Food Pantry.

Entirely organized and led by an employee committee, B.R. Kreider & Son employees collected and donated over 400 items, totaling 477 pounds of food, including canned fruit, soups, vegetables, cereal and other non-perishable foods to the organization which has been serving those in need within the Manheim Central School District since 2012

The Manheim Central Food Pantry serves 200 families and has never turned any family away that has needed help. Families come to the pantry once a month and are allowed to choose the brand and flavors they like. The organization determines the quantity of each food item a family is eligible to receive.

“The generosity and concern for others that our employees demonstrate is something that never ceases to amaze us,” said Brent Kreider, President of B.R. Kreider & Son, Inc. “An employee committee handled all the details and coordination of this effort and being able to help an organization like the Manheim Central Food Pantry that is meeting the needs of families in such a tangible way is a wonderful way for our team to give back to the community. We felt this was a great time to have a food collection because we know the pantry gets most of its larger deliveries around the holiday season at the end of the year.”
